A Halifax Home With a Hundred and Thirty Years of Stories.

Meet Margot farrell

The Citadel & Vine is a three-storey Victorian rowhouse on Gottingen Street, built in 1887 and restored with the kind of attention that only comes from someone who genuinely loves the place. Margot Farrell inherited it from her father, gutted it carefully, kept everything worth keeping — the original hardwood floors, the exposed brick on the east wall, the fireplaces — and opened it to guests who know what they're looking for.
It's not a boutique hotel. It's better than that. It's a real Halifax home with a guest book that goes back further than most businesses in this city.
